Another beautiful weekend in the Napa Valley!  Things sure seem to feel cooler than usual this summer.  Aside from a few heat spikes we have had our fair share of days in the upper 70s and lower 80s.  No complaining here, with just perfect growing conditions of nice sunshine and beautiful slow ripening.  We are just seeing the first signs of verasion in the vineyard this weekend, with some of our Cabernet Sauvignon grapes showing a hint of color on the berries.  Right now it looks like we are maybe 15% through verasion, and with the cool week ahead we may see a nice gradual color change this year.  It feels like we are a little behind last years schedule for harvest, but a few warm days could change that in a heartbeat.

Now is the perfect time to come out to the winery for a vineyard tour.  With all of the grapes changing day to day it is a fun time of year to see the grapes up close and watch their progression.  We should have some Chardonnay that we can taste on the vines in the next few weeks!  Always fun to try the grapes and see where all of the amazing flavor components from our wine come from.  Plus, the crush of crowds at harvest is still a few months away, so beat the crowds and enjoy a magical day on our patio for a tasting and tour at Bennett Lane.

With things moving forward towards harvest in the vineyards we will keep you posted on all of the harvest news.  Once harvest begins we will give you a daily recap of the fruit that we have brought into the winery each day throughout the season.  Check back with us soon!
