We had two very exciting visitors that joined us early this afternoon to take in the breathtaking views at Bennett Lane. Guests on our back patio were greeted by not one, but two Red Tail Hawks diving around the vineyards and circling for food. I tried to capture it with a photo, but wasn't quite quick enough getting in and out of the winery with the camera. It was a spectacular sight, with the two birds flying majestically with the vinyards below and the Palisade Mountains framing the scene.
Our patio has always been a great spot to sit and soak up some sun while sipping on Napa's finest.....but our setting has become more and more spectaular with all of the animals around this spring and summer. From Jack Rabbits hopping between rows to families of up to 10 California Quails scattering about the lawn, we are almost always greeted by critters of some kind. We can almost guarantee that at least two lizards will say hi before you even make it to the tasting room door. Come join us on the patio this summer at take the time to relax, have a great glass of Bennett Lane Wine, and welcome all of the wonderful wildlife here at the top of the Napa Valley. Next time I promise I will capture the photo for everyone!
Welcome to Bennett Lane Winery. Our 2006 Napa Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah both garnered 92 Points in Wine Spectator.
